Chrysler: no plans to quit Chinese venture

Chrysler LLC, the U.S. third largest car maker, has no plan to withdraw from its Chinese joint venture with Daimler AG and Beijing Automotive Industry Co, Beijing Benz Daimler Chrysler Automotive Co Ltd (BBDC), as it aims to speed up its expansion in the country’s sizzling auto market and to catch up with rivals, according to an senior executive at Chrysler. Wonder Auto Technology to Announce 2008 First Quarter Financial Results on May 14

JINZHOU CITY, Liaoning, China — Wonder Auto Technology, Inc.  (”Wonder Auto” or the “Company”), a leading manufacturer of automotive electrical and suspension parts in China, today announced that it will report financial results for the 2008 first quarter ended March 31, 2008, before the market opens on Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

China’s Chongqing Changan Auto April vehicle sales 17,306 units

BEIJING — Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd (SZA 000625; SZB 200625) said it sold 17,306 vehicles in April, with production 24,644 units.

In a statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the company said that Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co Ltd, its joint venture with Ford Motor Co, produced 21,047 vehicles in April with sales of 19,462 units.

Chongqing Changan Suzuki, its 51 pct-owned joint venture with Suzuki Motor, sold 10,550 vehicles last month on production of 14,499 units.

Chongqing Changan Automobile, the listed arm of China’s fourth-largest automaker Changan Automotive Group, did not provide comparative figures.
